“The Seeker”, 2018-2019, 100*110 cm, tempera grassa and oil on canvas in 19th century frame.
Over the past months I put quite an effort and all my heart into this painting. I was inspired by one of the latest works of Phil Rubinov, “Enigma I”, which I had the pleasure to see him complete. His painting shows a seeker on his pilgrimage across the mountains, resting after a long day’s walk. Eventually, in my painting the seeker has completed his life’s journey and reached his target, his inner temple, his personal holy grail, the truth of all truths. Or, with the words of Ramana Maharshi: He has arrived, he has arrived, he has arrived.
